When you register your son or daughter for the 2017-2018 Faith Formation year you may notice we are not meeting on Sunday evenings anymore. Here’s why: we had noticed many students were missing to finish up last minute homework, spend time with their families or were simply disinterested. We have revamped our program to have more of a conference feel. This year we will meet for five MANDATORY Saturdays (please see calendar attached below). Each Saturday will include a national speaker, musician for praise and worship, time with small groups and lunch! We promise you it will be a great experience and that we will be able to dive deeper into our Catholic faith in a way that makes sense.
We understand that Saturdays are not always free, especially for a high school teenager. We ask that you do your best to come for at least part of the day if you are unable to attend the entire day (if you are able to be there the whole day we expect this to be the case!). Please note that Wednesday nights are now youth evangelization nights. We will be starting a new program called “Oratory.” If you miss a Saturday you must attend FOUR Oratory sessions as a make-up. Oratory will meet Wednesday nights from 6:30-8pm in the youth lounge.
For any further questions regarding the new format, please contact Joseph@sugarlandcatholic.com.
1st Corinthians 1:27
“Rather, God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak of the world the shame the strong.”
Faith and discipleship is built through communities. St. Theresa fosters this though many different youth group activities, building a safe and nurturing community of young believers in order to become better disciples in their schools, families, and other extracurricular activities.
