Los Coros Hispanos de la Iglesia de Santa Teresa van a presentar las Vísperas Cantadas. Las Vísperas son una parte del Oficio Divino, también conocido como La Liturgia de las Horas. Son una forma de oración muy antigua que hoy en día siguen estando recitadas por sacerdotes, diáconos, monjas, y algunos fieles. Nuestros coros van a cantar las Vísperas para dar a la gente la oportunidad de rezarlas junta con su comunidad en una forma más solemne. Va ser un corto ensayo para las Vísperas empezando a las 7:15.
El Catecismo de la Iglesia Católica dice que “Los fieles que celebran la Liturgia de las Horas se unen a Cristo, nuestro Sumo Sacerdote, por la oración de los salmos, la meditación de la Palabra de Dios, de los cánticos y de las bendiciones,l a fin de ser asociados a su oración incesante y universal que da la gloria al Padre e emplora el don del Espíritu Santo sobre el mundo entero.” (CIC, #1196)

Spanish Sung Vespers – presented by the St. Theresa Spanish Choirs

Location: Main church
Vespers is a part of the Divine Office, also known as the Liturgy of the Hours. Vespers is an ancient form of prayer that even today is prayed by priests, deacons, religious, and even some of the lay faithful. Sometimes, Vespers is sung. We will be having a sung Vespers service to provide an opportunity for the faithful to pray the Vespers with their community in a more solemn manner.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that “The faithful who celebrate the Liturgy of the Hours are united to Christ our high priest, by the prayer of the Psalms, meditation on the Word of God, and canticles and blessings, in order to be joined with his unceasing and universal prayer that gives glory to the Father and implores the gift of the Holy spirit on the whole world.” (CCC, no. 1196).
