Baptism of Children Ages 7-17

OCIA for Children & Teens (Ages 7–17)

(Order of Christian Initiation of Adults -Adapted for Children & Teens)

This program is for children and youth ages 7 - 17 who:

  • Have not been baptized, or
  • Were baptized in another Christian faith and wish to become Catholic, or
  • Were baptized Catholic but have not received First Communion or Confirmation

Through age-appropriate lessons, prayer, and parish activities, students grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith and prepare to receive the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism (if needed), Confirmation, and First Holy Communion - usually celebrated at the Easter Vigil. OCIA includes catechesis, liturgical rites, and community support with parents actively involved throughout the process as well.
